I purchased a 1/18 scale chaparral 2K,$300.00, last week, with out numbers. I then found out that it comes with numbers as well. I saw it race at Monterey as 66. Is it possible that I could get the 66 decals from you? Or due you have a source?

To this day, I still recall seeing the Chaparral 1 navigating turn 6 at Riverside in 1961. Then with a bigger, movable, rear spoiler in 1962.
I feel quite fortunate, having the opportunity to see all the various Chaparral Can-Am cars, as they evolved and raced at Riverside, Laguna Seca, and even the Stardust Raceway in Las Vegas, NV. They were truly a site to see. It is great to see the Legacy alive with this site and the Museum.
Jim Hall and his visions and engineering efforts were so far ahead of their time, they permanently changed the direction of auto racing. It was fantastic to see the Chaparral 2E exiting turn 8, at Riverside, and as soon as it entered the back straight, the rear wing would snap flat, to eliminate the drag, not to mention the thunderous roar of the big Chevy.

I hope to be able to visit the home of the mighty Chaparral in late October or early November as I am passing through Texas on my way to relocating in North Carolina. Wouldnt mind driving one or two of them neither, har har, but I would most definitely like to take some quality photos of these legends.

I will never forget the model cars i built that Mr Hall drove and won in. My favorite Driver and the cars he fit into are the best. You are my hero Mr Hall. I love the White Chaparrals of the 60s. When i was on the field running for a touchdown in the middle 60s "4th grader" i was shifting gears in my minds white chaparral. God Bless You Mr Hall. Regards, Lynn

I am hoping Mr Hall does autographs for a donation the way Mr Shelby does.
I have ben carrying around a cutaway picture published in 1970 by Shell Oil Co..
My father gave it to me when I was 17, ( 56 now ), and I would like to have the opportunity to have it signed as the cars were a very inspiring part of my sports car youth.I still drive my 55' MG,(my first car).
I hope this is a possibility.
Thank you-Paul

Thanks for setting up this site. I've been a fan of the fast white cars from Texas since I was a little kid. It's great that they are being looked after with such loving care for all future Chaparral lovers to come !!!
Rest in peace Phil Hill.

As a racing enthusiast in the 1960's it was a thrill to watch the development of the Chaparral. From the winning car at Sebring which I saw as a teenager, to the flipper cars, high wing cars, coupes, and the "sucker" car. All were historic and made auto racing truly interesting.
It also proved that with Chaparrals, Cobras, and Ford GT's, that America could race with anything from Europe.
Thanks to the gang from Chaparral Cars for making racing in the 60's and 70's something special. It was sure great for us fans then and today!

The site evokes memories. As a high school senior in the 66/67 school year I thought the 2E was pretty much the ultimate. In fact I purposely chose a Corvair with automatic to emulate the 2 series cars.
In the spring of 1968 while at Keesler AFB I had a conversation with a fellow airmen who had been a parts chaser at Chevy. One day he drove by a garage with some white "sports cars" cars in view. They looked different from any known Chevy and sure enough he had a chance to meet Jim Hall. He said he was pretty much sworn to secrecy. At least that was the story as it was related to me!
Beyond the Chaparrals I always liked the white #4 GS that Jim Hall and Roger Penske drove at Sebring 64.

I was a big fan of Can Am cars ever since I was a teenager. Jim Hall and his Chaparrals were always my favorates to watch against Bruce Mclaren and John Surtees and the rest of those great drivers who could power those machines around the track. If anyone knows where I can pick up a 1/18 scale diecast model of the 2E please contact me at mirl_popowich at sympatico.ca . This would be greatly appreceated. Thanks Mirl

It's great to see all the Chaparrals again. When I was in college, I went to a lot of the USRRC and Can Am events at Road America. Later, I did race coverage for newspapers and magazines, and one of my first stories was on a race at RA including a Chaparral, and later, I covered Indy car races including the 2K,and later when Jim Hall Racing was running the Lola T333CS. I hope to check out the Chaparral Wing at the Petroleum Museum early next year.

I am a longtime fan of Jim Hall, I retired from Shell after 30 years in 1999. I was proud he carried the Shell "pecten" on his Chaparrals. I came back working on a contract in 2004. There aren't many here who remember those days in the Sixties.
I first watched Jim Hall and Hap Sharp at Laguna Seca as a teenager. There is no better photo than to see them one and two coming through the corkscrew. They did battle with Bruce MacLaren and Denis Hulme. What great days!

All,
I have been a great fan since I was a teenager in Texas during the 60's, Of the engineering inovations and wonder of these cars. Every thing that is racing today had it's start with these beautifull cars. Thank you for all the excitement and daring, a Texan, a Race Fan, a Chaparral Forever Fan.

Gentlemen.
I had the honor and pleasure to visit your facility in the summer of 97. Troy Rogers was kind enough to show me around and presented me with an autographed picture of Jim and his cars inside the compound. I will never forget that day. Thanks for the memories and contribution you all have made to racing.
Your biggest fan.

I was lucky enough to see Chaparral race at Sebring in 1965, 66, and 67. I am glad to see that the cars have been preserved.
