I have been a Chaparral fan since my first Cox Chapparal Slot car with a wing that worked w/the slot guide. I won my FIRST race, with my FIRST car, and am trying to update designs with Maya and 3ds max.

I can't really say enough, but well done on your remarkable career in motorsports. You showed them how it should be done. Well done and best wishes. I wish I could be at the Monterrey Classic to see your cars run again.

Hi Jim:

Long time no see or speak. Wish I could be at Laguna Seca this weekend but can't make it.

Enjoy the weekend and your time with GdF.

Regards,

David Phillips

I have been a Chaparral fan forever. In my opinion and I'm sure of many more, Jim Hall has done more to influence auto racing with his genius and innovation. It was a shame that others (competition) complained so much about Jim Hall's cars that Can Am eventually disappeared. It is my goal to someday visit the Chaparral museum to see just once, the cars upclose that impress me to this day. Thank you Mr. Hall for all you've done.

Dear Nr. Hall;
As I was employed by Don Wester, and remember the time Homer & I, put the Fender Cover over the "Huffaker Transaxle" (Just because Franz covered up the "Auto") I will look forward to attending my last race.

I hope to see you on Sat.

A great American icon. I fell in love with sports cars largely because of the Chapparal which was, of course, my first slot car. I was so curious about the technology that I wrote down my questions and sent them off to Jim Hall when I was twelve. He replied with a detailed, seven paragraph response which made my day. I got to see the 2-J "sucker" run at Road Atlanta - amazing through the curves (while it lasted). Would love to hear more about the continuation car.

Thanks for some of the greatest moments in American Racing. You created an excitement in auto racing that has never been repeated and probably never will. You were and are a hero of mine. And you gave me great inspiration. Thanks!!

The Chaparral 2 will be driven Thursday, September 10th around 5:30 p.m. at The Petroleum Museum. The Chaparral 2 will run for approximately 10-20 minutes in the front circle. The running of the Chaparrals is part of the routine maintenance to keep the cars in running condition.

Word on the street is that Jim Hall will be driving!

Please enter through the Visitor Center entrance which is east of the Museum’s entrance. (The Museum entrance will be closed off.) Please feel free to come early and walk back to the garage to see it getting prepped for the drive.

Oh By the way... whats the deal with all the spam messages??

I am very interested in the Chaparrals. Would like more information about your new museum and updates. Please add my name your mailing list. I attend a lot of ALMS races including the Le Mans in France. Just came from Elkhart Lake for the Road America Race. I live in Washington State, so it's a fair distance to all of these races. Love'em.

As an engineer trying to get kids interested in engineering and science, I always showed the first 15 minutes from the NOVA special on race cars. Jim had been an inspiration to me as I followed the the series in the 60's. I actually saw the 2H at a motel at the Texas Can Am at Texas world speedway. I still like the look of that car. I was talking to one of the crew at the Classy Chasis car show here in Houston a few months ago. He related the proposed changes that would have been made on the 2H. It is too bad that the sucker car won out. Last month I was finally able to see the 2H again at Midland museum.
It is still an inspiration.
Jim, thanks for the memories

I have a set of James Allinton's cutaway drawings from Shell Oil, 1967. Is there any way to get Jim Hall to autograph the Chaparral art print???
Thanks,
Roger Scott

I do not think there is any doubt among fans of true motorsport, and particularly of sports-racing cars, that Jim Hall and Bruce McLaren are the true giants. They contributed more than we can ever acknowledge, and they have enriched our lives in ways that no one could have imagined.
