My brother took me to Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI for the 1968 CANAM. Jim Hall ran the 2G with undersized wet tires that didn't fill the rear fender flares. I was 11 at the time and been a fan ever since. Still have a photo that my brother took of the Hall leading the Simonize Lola out of Canada Corner. Now we meet there and I take my son. (I've since seen more rainy race days at that track) Unfortunately I was not able to see the Chaparrals' return to Road America in 2002. Would have loved to watch the Roadrunners blast through the Moraine Hills again! I hope they make another trip soon.

I'm studying mechanical engineering at the University of Central Florida, and I eventually want to start a car company. I'm trying to develop my own road-going supercar, and Jim Hall is definitely one of my heroes. Mr. Hall, if you could have studied one particular subject more in depth when you were at the California Institute of Technology, what would you have studied?

I am so pleased that you continue to pursue your passion. I have been designing my own sports car for years. It may not ever come to fruition but the dream lives on. You are certainly one of the most talented auto personalities in my lifetime, best regards and good look.

It has been quite a few years that I have been a fan of the innovative chaparral racing cars. In fact, as a 12 0r 13 year-old I wrote to Jim Hall after his crash at the Stardust Can-Am race in las Vegas in the late 1960s. This little note is an affirmation of my admiration of the man and the machine that brought so much change to so many in racing from then to today. I am a 50 year-old man who went back to school & got my bachelor's degree after being out of school for 25 years. One thing I have learned is not to forget the things I love. Chararral sports cars meant a lot to me when young, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to share this sentiment today.

Wow! What a large charge it is to find you guys!! Been a serious Chaparral fan ever since ABCs coverage of the `67 LeMans 24 Hrs; showing the amazing winged 2F coupe! To this day Chaparral is by far my favorite marque. And as history has revealed; also the most innovative. Hopefully we would see some coverage about the 2E continuation series on Speed Channel in the not-too-distant future? Or any other Chaparral info on TV would be great!!! God Bless you Jim Hall & everyone at Chaparral Cars!

The Chap 2D epic speed run at Daytona made your eyes blur it did mine. Jim Hall you are the original American Icon. Thanks for all the memories of glory and the 2D win at the Nurburgring. I was but 16 but knew the white cars from Texas were special. Spent some time locked up in a cabin at Lake Texoma but couldn't get free to get to Rattlesnake raceway to see a 2E run. Many years have passed but I still have all my plastic covered SCI mags with all the CANAM cars and races. When the racing gets a little weak I pick my favorite SCI and I am back when a little oil and dirt didn't hurt you none. To keep my Chap legend alive I paint them on canvas and draw them with ink and I know I am making somebody happy. Now if you haven't ever been to the Texas Panhandle you need to go so you'll understand why the Chaparral can run.
Thank you Jim Hall and God Bless you and your crew.
You made our days!

My father was a GM employee (PMD) and, of course, during most of the Chaparral sports car years GM has in self-induced exile from racing. As my Dad “affectionately” referred to the company “Generous Motors” was at their zenith then, so I guess their official absence from competition didn't hurt them too much in the market place. But it was with great pride that I followed your long distance competitions carrying the Chevrolet banner against the Henry Ford II Goliath and the Europeans. We had a real American conceived, designed and built car with a GM engine.
The Group 7 cars were the sexiest of all your creations, however, and if you had to pick only one for a continuation model I concur with your choice of the 2E. Good luck and I hope you sell a flock of them.

I've admided the Chaparrals since I've been a young teenager.
I raced the 2E Cox Chaparral in slotcar racing, thats what started my love for the Chaparrals. As years went by I read and followed Jim;s racing career. Til this very day I collect his racing memorabilia and hope some day to get to the museum. I also have Vic Elfords autograph. Just to let you know that we are still out there...
