As a kid growing up in the 1960's I fell in love with the Chaparrals and that love affair has never ended. My personal favorite was the 2F. Thanks for keeping the legacy alive.

WOW! It's great to see the Continuation is happening. I've been bragging about Chaparral as the Greatest Car on Earth since I first saw it in 1966. Your hard work...My dream come true. Go into PRODUCTION! Yee haw!

Mr. Jim Hall

As a boy growing up in San Angelo you were one of my heros. I still remember coming home from school to find my Sports Car Graphic with the 2E on the cover (hay bales in the background). It was, and still is, one of the most beautiful works of art I have ever seen. I have been an architect for over 30 years now, fortunate to have traveled the world, seen many works of art and architecture, and still believe the 2E is the most beautiful race car ever built (form follows function). The Ferrari P3 is a distant second. Thank you for the inspiration and memories.

Hello to Jim! I doyubt that he will remember a high school kid from Las Vegas who corresponded through letters and was there for every race in las Vegas and Riverside until the Chaparrals were no longer racing. I sent a card to the hospital when he was wrecked at the Stardust raceway and have been a lifelong fan of Jim's engineering and the spirit of Chaparral Cars. I covet the letters I have from Jim, and bought the book a few years back. It would make my life complete to have him sign my book. I still have my Chaparral scrapbook!

i was very surprised and delighted to see 2F at the Goodwood Revival meeting in England for a tribute to the great Phil Hill,it brought back many boyhood memories of the B.O.A.C 500 in 1967.
Mike Spence lived in the same town as myself, and therefore i supported him in all his racing endevours,so it was natural to support the Chaparral, Phil Hill as well as Mike Spence, and what a weekend that turned out to be, i sat on the side pod whilst Phil Hill signed his autograph for me,as the car was fuelled in the paddock,i took loads of photo's in the paddock during the practice days(sadly most of them long gone) and then raceday ,the "Winged Wonder" winning the race. That race has always remained with me and really sealed my great love of motorsport, and Chaparrals became my favourite racecar, never actually seeing one in the flesh again until they came over, many years later, for the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Last weekend i again took many many photo's,(which i will not loose)and as i say it brought back many happy memories to a now middle aged man

As an addition to my other post.I was intrigued by your Chaparral race cars from the first article I read.I searched for anything I could read about your cars.I wanted to learn as much about road racing as I could when in high school.I only wanted Chaparral models, esp. the Cox slot cars(I still have them).Your group kept 'wetting' my appetite for faster and better handling cars.Apon entering college in 1967 I studied Industrial design and got away from your racing cars. After many years I pulled out the old magazine articles on your cars last night and wondered about them thats why this post. I still love road racing,I've read anything written and like Herb Adams however the only racing I can afford is drag racing.I have 2 SD 455 Trans Ams.One street car and one race car.Maybe I will convert the drag car to a vintage road race car money allowing. Thanks for your influence on my racing.

Dear Mr. Hall,

WoW ! I saw the Chaparral 2E continuation model at the Woodward Dream Cruise this year. What a knock out! Like many of your other fans, I spent hours as a teenager researching everything I could find on every kind of Chaparral. I had models, Drawings, slot cars etc. Seeing one of the cars for real was such a spendid surprise. Good luck and good health on your projects.

Dear Mr Hall, In 1967 I wrote to you about plans/drawings of the 1966 2E and the 2F so I could make a pair of 1/32 scale Chapparal slotcars. You very kindly sent back two 'three view' line drawings of the vehicles. They were perfect. I wanted to write to thank you and just let you know how much enjoyment your work gave us at that time. I was 15 years old and intending to become a designer. It was really good to see your designs although our family owned FORDs and I barracked for the McLarens because New Zealand is next door to Austrlia. I trust you are well. Thanks again, Jonathan Bright

Thanks for all the awesome machines you people have built. I race a 2j on gran turismo 4, and it is by far one of the fastest best handling cars ive ever driven. I can only imagine what it feels like in real life. It has become my primary race car, class permiting. When I race online the car absolutely dominates. The "kids"...Im 31 dont even know what it is so they dont spend the 1.3 million to buy it, which is good for me in championships. The ole girl simply drives away from everything, even at le mans changing the final drive to 3.55 will let me roll about 240 down the mulsane straight. Simply awesome!

I love all the Chaparral cars. My first car, was the cox- slotcar 2C in the 60´s. I saw the great race 1966 at Nürburgring with the fantastic 2F. Today i drive all the types in 1/24 as Slotcars. Your website is great.
Thank you Jim Hall. Best regards from germany.

I've always been an admirer of Chaparral's legacy of innovation both in aerodynamics and composite structures. It is not surprising how many of the current crop of LMP & ALMS cars share similarities to many of the body details pioneered on the 2E and other Chaparrals. (I guess air doesn't move any differently now than it did in the 60's!)The all fiberglass 2D & 2F proved the value of composite structure race cars WAY before the carbon fiber era. Yes, I'm another dreamer attempting to design a glass/carbon fiber trackday car. The simplicity of the 2D/2F is one of my many inspirations. Sure would love to know how you built them!
Thanks for so much,
David Schreiber

I saw the Chaparral 2E Continuation at the Dream Cruise today and would like more details. I am a recently retired designer from GM and used to race slot cars with Larry Shinoda. I designed a couple race cars for Jerry Hansen and Lee Dykstra, they were fast, but not as dominant as the Jim Hall Chaparrals. My curent vintage ride is a DeTomaso Mangusta but would be interested in the 2E.
Regards,
George Anderson
